Five frequently asked questions:

• I live & work in Quebec. Can I apply for the express entry?

  Yes, you can apply for express entry even if you are a Quebec resident. But you have to prove your intent to leave Quebec.

• I have a job offer in Canada. Can I claim 50 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)?

  Not in all cases. Merely having a job offer or working in Canada doesn't automatically give you 50 points under CRS. Your job offer must be valid in terms of immigration to qualify for 50 points.

• Can everyone create an Express Entry profile?

  No, you must be eligible under one of the Federal Economic Immigration programs to create your express entry profile. Along with this, you also need valid language results.

• Do I need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for the Express Entry?

  To gain your foreign education points, you must have a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for your completed foreign education.

• My IELTS score is expired after ITA; what should I do?

  Your language test results must be valid when you submit your application for permanent residence. So if your IELTS is expired after ITA and before Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR,) you must appear for a new exam.
