The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a federal economic immigration program. It provides a fast-tracked permanent residency to skilled foreign workers and international students who wish to work & live permanently in one of the four Atlantic provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador. It is an employer-driven program that helps designated employers fill labor shortages by supporting foreign nationals in their permanent residency applications. Introduced in 2017 as a three-year pilot, AIPP was first extended till December 2021. The Government of Canada has announced it as a permanent Atlantic immigration program as of Jan 2022. To qualify under AIPP, the applicant must have a job offer from a designated employer.
