The post-graduate work permit (PGWP) is an open work permit that allows eligible International students to remain and work in Canada. This permit's beauty is that international students don't need any job offer to submit their application for PGWP, and they can work anywhere in Canada. The validity of a post-graduate work permit depends on the duration of a student's study program. However, its validity period may not go beyond the applicant's passport validity date. In such cases, the applicant must apply for a work permit extension upon renewing their passport to receive their remaining validity of the post-graduation work permit. If a student completes their program in less time than the program's standard duration, the post-graduation work permit will be issued for the study program's regular length. A Post-graduate work permit is an excellent way to gain Canadian work experience and facilitate transition into Permanent Residency (PR).
