• What is the processing time for the endorsement application?

  The processing time of an AIP endorsement application varies based on each province, your country of residence at the time of application, the volume of applications received, and whether it is complete. In the case of the Atlantic Immigration Program, it may take anywhere between 1-4 months in general.

• How long my work permit will be valid under the AIP?

  Under AIP, you may be eligible for an employer-specific LMIA-exempt work permit that is valid for one year from the date of entry to Canada or until the expiry of the travel document, whichever comes first.

• Can my spouse apply for a work permit under the AIP?

  Spouse or Common-law partner of an AIP applicant may apply for an open work permit if that participant is employed in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, A, B, or C position.

• Is AIP part of Express Entry?

  No, AIP doesn't fall under Express entry. It is an independent program.

• Do I need to show funds under the AIP?

  You must establish that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after getting to Canada unless working in Canada with a valid work permit.
